Postpartum Doula Care
-
Two 90 minute prenatal home visits to get to know each other, and to help me feel the rhythm of your home before baby arrives. During these visits, we will create a postpartum plan. This includes education on common postpartum experiences, planning your meals, determining who you want to visit after baby arrives, setting boundaries, and exploring expectations and dreams for postpartum. I highly encourage your partner to be present for these visits!
-
Call or text support during the hours of 6am-10pm (As a mother and birth assistant, I will get back to you as soon as possible! Most of the time, that will be right away, but occasionally I will need to tend to other responsibilities first.) You can leave me messages during the night, I will answer as soon as possible.

Placenta art, and a special plant to honor your placenta if desired. I do not offer placenta encapsulation. I recommend Sam Martin (North GA/Chatt areas) Laura Look of the Fourth Moon Doula (Middle TN) for placenta encapsulation!
I define postpartum as immediately after birth through the first year. You may book my services during any of these times. My services are personalized for the needs of each individual client. As a postpartum doula, I can provide care to you no matter your birth location or circumstances. Postpartum doulas are especially helpful to women healing from a C-section birth.
I offer my services from the hours of 10am-4pm Monday through Saturday. My full postpartum doula package includes two prenatal visits, my healing meal service, and home visits starting at one day postpartum. Depending on your needs, I can come everyday, or just once every 3-5 days to prepare meals and help out while I’m there. I recommend booking services until your milk supply is well established - about six weeks or at least forty days.
Home birth clients: From 36 weeks onwards, I can prepare some meals to keep in your freezer so you can have something nourishing to eat right after birth. (See Birth nourishment add-on) I typically plan our first visit on day one postpartum. If you want or need support immediately after birth, I can usually arrive within a few hours notice. I usually schedule my home visits in 3 or 6 hour sessions, depending on your needs.
Hospital clients: I can drop off nourishing meals to you while you are still in the hospital. You, a partner, or support person will need to tell the hospital staff your doula is on the way to drop off food or anything else I can help with.
Investment
Full postpartum doula package: $1500. This includes two 90 min. prenatal visits, two Doula-chef sessions (6-10 days worth of food), 12 hours of daytime support, and call/text support. Additional daytime postpartum doula hours are $35 per hour. You can continue your meal service for $350 per session after the first two that are included in the package.

Birth Doula Care
I hold limited spaces for mamas and families who feel called to walk with God and me during their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Birth support is something vulnerable and Spiritual to me, it's important to be in alignment with the mothers who choose me for birth support. Not necessarily meaning any specific desires for birth outcome, but mothers who understand that God lovingly rules over life and birth. God has entrusted women (midwives) to walk with each other during this profound, transformative, and beautiful experience. If you are a woman looking to bring peace and joy into her pregnancy and birth please reach out! I am open to God leading me to the women who I am meant to serve - whether it's in the woods or at the hospital! I am open to women from different Spiritual backgrounds - not just Christian women. My family is part Native (Anishinaabe), and I am open to many different beliefs.
Includes:
-
Four prenatal visits to discuss, explore, and integrate experiences during pregnancy. Explore birth expectations, desires, fears, prayers, and dreams. I would like to meet once in the first and second trimesters, and meet two times in the third trimester. (If you need more prenatal sessions we can make that happen!)
-
A sweet gift basket including books, candles, teas, etc.
-
1-36 weeks: Call or text support during the hours of 6am-10pm (As a mother and birth assistant, I will get back to you as soon as possible! Most of the time, that will be right away, but occasionally I will need to tend to other responsibilities first.) If you suspect you are in labor before 36 weeks, please contact your midwife or OB before me. If you need to message me in the night, I will respond as soon as possible.
-
36 weeks beyond: Call or text support 24/7. If you think you are in labor, please call instead of texting. If you can’t talk have your partner call please!
-
During our time prenatally, we can explore your dreams for birth, and create a birth and postpartum plan if you desire to. We can’t ever know exactly what will happen during birth, so I don’t like to make rigid plans, and I don’t like to ignore fear. Rather than ignoring it, or being afraid something bad will happen if we speak about it, we can walk with God through fear.
-
One 90 minute postpartum visit to discuss birth and integrate your experience.
-
One postpartum healing-meal service.
-
Doula support during a home birth vs. hospital or birth center births will look different! I'm a student midwife learning to support home birth, but I'm open to hospital births as well.
Home birth clients: My doula support at home may look like… helping set up a comforting and safe environment, lighting natural beeswax candles, playing soft or powerful music, speaking affirmations, praying, hip squeezes, fetching water or snacks, keeping mama hydrated with coconut water or “labor-ade,” keeping older siblings occupied or comforting them, communicating with your midwife, capturing sweet photos if desired, cleaning up messes, drawing a warm bath or filling up the labor tub, helping to tuck you into bed with baby and a nourishing meal after birth, and beyond. If you transfer to hospital I will go with you, willing the hospital staff will allow me to.
Hospital/birth center birth clients: My doula support in the hospital may look like creating a more comfortable environment in the hospital - dimming lights, playing soft or powerful music, using little LED candles, whatever may help mama feel safe and less disturbed. We will create a plan prenatally if we can to determine what would be best for you. Speaking affirmations, praying, hip squeezes, hand holding, encouragement for your partner, helping mama stay hydrated (I can still bring coconut water or labor-ade!), and capturing photos if desired. I choose not to communicate on the family’s behalf to hospital staff (unless you are in transition and unable to speak), but I will always support your decisions. If you want to take your placenta home, I’ll make sure to bring a cooler and ice. I may have to bring the placenta home and then come back to the hospital after.
I am open to offer free or donation-based doula care to teen mothers and families impacted by addiction - in whatever way I can. Please reach out if you need help, you are so loved.

Disclaimer
It's important to me that my clients understand doulas are not regulated in the United States or Alabama. Doula certifications are voluntary and are given out by individuals or private organizations - not a governing body. A doula is not a midwife or healthcare provider. A doula cannot guarantee any specific birth outcome, but studies have shown positive benefits from doula support. I do not accept insurance. Doulas may not diagnose or treat any disease. I am not an RN or IBCLC, I do not offer night-nurse services. My practice is to support and educate mothers and families. If I suspect you or your baby need medical attention I will communicate this to you and help schedule an appointment with the appropriate provider if necessary. I use herbs as part of my meal service if desired, and it is the responsibility of my client to consult with her medical provider(s) before starting any herbal supplements. Nothing on my website is intended to diagnose or treat any disease or symptom.
